Varvara’s is a small, comfortable two-bedroom house. It sits inside a larger property, with ample gardens and direct access to the sea.
Varvara’s has a swimming pool (14 meters on 3) , and a small private garden with a sitting area covered by a waterproof tent.
The house has a living room with openings on three sides; there are two sofas and a small round dining table. One whole side of the room, slightly set back, holds a fully equipped kitchen. A back door just next to the kitchen opens up unto a service back patio.
The ground floor bedroom, with a double bay window, has a double bed and en-suite bathroom, the bathtub with shower.
An outside staircase leads to the first floor, with secluded private gardens, two terraces, waterproof tent-covered sitting area. The top bedroom has two single beds with a walk-in closet; the bathroom also has a bathtub with shower.

Besides, guests at Varvara’s have access to a shared living and dining room, 30 meters away from the cottage. This area is also used by tenants of the other four cottages on the property. Here, lunch OR dinner, at the guest choice, is included in the rental price. Guests are requested in the evenings to let staff know if they prefer to have lunch or dinner the next day. Cold meals can be served in the cottage.
The sea, right below, is accessible on foot, ten minutes’ walk, and a steep way back, or with the electric cars, for rent upon availability. Besides Varvara’s pool, a larger pool is available to all tenants of the five cottages; it is below the common dining room, with an open terrace overlooking the sea. An open-air, covered sitting room is also available for relaxing or meeting the other guests.
Inside its boundary, Varvara’s provides remarkable privacy in both of its quarters, making it ideal for holidays of two adult couples; the swimming pool is also a little removed from the house creating a third independent zone, with covered sitting area. The house is part of a larger complex, and guests are welcome to rent one or more accommodations according to their needs. They are welcome to entertain at any time; should they like to ask friends for lunch or dinner, the per-person fee is discussed with the cook according to the convened menu.
Inside Varvara’s boundary, in the higher garden, there is a small Hermit dedicated to Saint Varvara, where every December 4th we assemble for a small celebration.
Varvara’s is in Mougelatika, 15 minutes’ walk from Lakka village, in the northern part of Paxos. It is 15 minutes’ drive from the main village of Gaios. The house sits at an altitude of 50 meters above sea level. It is located within a larger property, globally embracing the land behind 500 meters of coast-line.
The parking lot, of public access but on privately owned land, is just a few meters and four steps away from the house. A second gate, at the back of the house, leads unto the property central “monopati” (pathway); from there, always within the property, walking access to the sea is 10 minutes away.
