Balelas has a lovely living room (5 x 5 meters), with two doors and 4 windows opening unto the village lanes, and a porcelain wood-stove for spring and fall cooler days. One side of the living room, hidden behind a wooden cupboard, holds a kitchen.
Behind the living groom, a tiny bedroom has a door that gives straight into the small garden, and en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet. The bathroom has a shower, and a window facing the little garden. There, a very old and large olive tree covers with shade the terraced part, and the small garden, planted with four different sorts of fragrant jasmines.

Balelas was an endearing Lakka character, whose portrait still hangs in the local “kafenio”, everybody loved him. It was him that first used the old “apothiki” as a house. In his memory, “Balelas” is now a charming little village house refurbished to contemporary standards, while retaining lots of its ancestral features. The smooth, foot-worn stones of the floors show well the steps of ages gon.
“Balelas” sits on the outskirts of Lakka, the northern part of Paxos island. Gaios is 8 km away, Loggos 4. The house is one of the last houses behind the village; from there, you can walk 100 meters to the waterfront cafes and restaurant. Beaches in the Lakka bay are within a 10 minutes walk. In the opposite direction, olive groves start just by the house, through a lovely old pathway up to the surrounding hills.
Cars are not allowed inside the village, and a private car park is three minutes’ walk away.
